Today (the eighth of March 2017) is my sixty-ninth birthday. I’m still getting my head around that fact. Anyone, friend or acquaintance, who says I look older will be shot at dawn every day for a week, metaphorically speaking! I share the same birth year (1948) with two good friends and fellow writers. We were born within weeks of one another. Strictly in the order of seniority, I give you that man Seumas Gallacher, Scottish by birth. I’m not exactly sure where he was born but I have a feeling it might have been Glasgow. The second member of this exclusive trio is Robert Bauval who was born in Alexandria in Egypt. I bring up the rear as the youngest, being born in the market town of Beccles in the English county…
