…Authoress, Heather Robinson’s popped back in again to say hello…

…getting heard above the chatter on the Web is a constant issue for we quill-scrapers… my pal Authoress, Heather Robinson, has twigged that, and I’m delighted to have her come visit again… judge for yerselves if she’s got the direction right.. I think she has… and let’s give her some writer family LUV in support for her WURK:

When sales need a boost, friendships count for everything…

I have written a novel…Wall of Stone…and it’s ‘out there’ being bought, read and reviewed; twenty-five reviews on Amazon at the last check, and that’s a positive tick for my self-marketing checklist, as I believe twenty-five is the magic figure that streams the mighty Amazon (see what I did there?) in to noticing the book exists. That piece of knowledge came to me via a book forum on Facebook, posted by the good Scotsman Seumas Gallacher himself, whose blog page I am again invading by kind invitation.

Why am I here again? Because I need to forge on in to the smouldering bonfire of self-promotion, bellow it up and create some heat for myself. Heather Robinson…my name needs branding if I want Wall of Stone, and the series to follow, to be successful. And I do, hence I am up and running, full tilt, smoking the keyboard…and hitching a lift with Seumas in the hope of ticking another, major, checklist box – gaining followers to my blog site and friends to my facebook page. When sales need a boost, friendships count for everything in social media. Like, comment, share, buy, review (in any combination) = social media success.

Do you need both a blog and a facebook? I’m not sure, you tell me. For now, I thought it best to cover all bases, so both are available and I would love it if you’d visit and ‘like’ both. You can be in on the start of my branding adventure and watch it evolve. Heather Robinson…ha…it’s already developed its own quirk that I didn’t see coming when I began this dispatch, just like a character does as you write. Should I italicise the letters on the blog site too? Hang fire, first branding problem – the website address is http://www.wallofstone.wordpress.com – I’ll have to look at changing that, but visit it and ‘like’ it as it is for now; have to forge on!

New back page blurb for Wall of Stone: In AD121 the Twentieth Legion of Rome stands at the northern frontier of Britannia. Forgotten, neglected and dour in spirit, they must still do their duty for an Empire whose meaning is becoming lost to them. As the lives of the local Teviot family intertwine with the legion, relationships of love and bitter anguish unfurl. Will the invading army push north? Will the disputing native tribes unite in an uprising? Can Marcus be with Jolinda? When peace is fragile, friendships count for everything…
