…the WURLD of literary figures is full of tales of intrepid travellers… from Sinbad the Sailor to Robinson Crusoe… from Hannibal to Horatio Nelson… from the populace of the books of Jules Verne to the Star Trek and Star Wars interplanetary voyagers…
…no surprise, then, next month, when Master Gallacher deems it fit and proper to undertake an odyssey back to the British Isles… let the rain, wind and snow batter down… the wellies are packed and the scarf unfurled… first stop, LAAHN-DIN in the Souwf of Eng-u-land, innit, Mabel… that sprawling capital city, whose internationally acclaimed cabbies know everybody and everything about anything from politics to prime rib… thence northbound to the Land of my Birth, to break bread, or p’raps indulge some haggis, with Laurence and Stephanie Patterson, my laudable Crooked Cat Publishers in ENBRA, another glorious capital metropolis… a same-day-there-and-back sojourn across the country to Glasgow is squeezed into the schedule… and what wunnerful anticipation this ol’ Jurassic has of these peregrinations… on the trail of two cities, London and Glasgow (sorry, Chuck Dickens, these resonate better than ‘London and Paris’ for me)… planned get-togethers of kindred pals, scribblers or otherwise in each location, are heady highlights for me to look forward to… (d’yeez see how excited I am—I even ended a phrase back there with a preposition!)… the response to a wee suggestion that maybe some of yeez Lads and Lassies of Blog Land could carve out a modicum of yer valuable time to come meet up, has been gratifying… there’s NUTHIN LIKE a good sensible, highly-intelligent, sober discussion among adults… and I fully expect these meetings will also be NUTHIN LIKE a good sensible, highly-intelligent, sober discussion among adults… so, the flying-machine ticket has been acquired, I’ve checked (thrice) that Interpol has not yet caught up with me to ban my travel back into Eng-u-land… the restraining orders from the Keep-Britain-Free-Of-Dodgy-Authors Society have not been renewed… if any of yeez wanna join, all are welcome, there should be some grand craic… here are the dates and locations:
London… Tuesday, November 03, from 11.am until late afternoon
The Betjeman Arms, St Pancras Station
Glasgow… Wednesday, November 04 from 2pm-ish until around 6pm
The Millennium Hotel, next to Queen Street Railway Station
…if yeez are minded to come along to either gathering, please email me with yer intention on seumasgallacher@yahoo.com
…see yeez later… LUV YEEZ!…

Have a great time in the ‘ook, That Man, but don’t forget your phrase book – I always feel like a damned alien when I go back there! (not meant as a reference to Sting).
