…A Tour Through Blogland Awards… and the nominations are…

…this ol’ Jurassic is indebted to Author -Carole Parkes whose blog page tells yeez she’s interested in a range of topics, covering psychological, thriller, mystery, secrets, betrayal, adoption, romance, poetry, art… go pick ‘em out of that, Lads and Lassies of Blog Land…

…Carole nominated me for ‘A Tour Through Blogland’ award, and not unexpectedly there are some ROOLS and parameters which I will duly attempt to follow…. not the least is to leak some information on my ’sponsor’… Layyyy-deeees an’ Genn’lmen… the redoubtable Author, Carole Parkes:

…m’Lady, Carole was born in Liverpool in 1945, and has lived in her current house near Ormskirk, Lancashire for the past 39 years… she has survived marriage for 49 years and mothered three sons, all now married with their own families…

…her writing career began in 1985 when she produced several short stories, a series of children’s books and her newly-published book on Kindle, “Tissue of Lies.” …between 1985 and 1989 Carole encouraged her elderly mother to write her life story, whilst starting on her own biography… the commitment to her elderly parents, meant she was precluded from pursuing her writing seriously until after her parents, aged 97 and 94, both passed away in 2012…

…she’s now in the process of re-editing “Tissue of Lies” which has already attracted several four-star and five-star reviews…

…Carole’s husband calls her a butterfly because she flits from one hobby to another… apart from being a wife for 49 years and a mother of three sons, she also describes herself as an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poetess…  of this extensive range of interests the most enduring has been writing and she hopes to be doing it well into old age…

Rules for ‘A Tour Through Blogland’

  1. Pass the tour on to up to four other bloggers.
  2. Give them the rules.
  3. Tell the world about your creative process which lets other bloggers and visitors know what inspires you to do what you do.
  4. The last part of A Tour Through Blogland, if you so choose, is to write a one-time article which can be posted in the same post in which you shared about your work or at a later date. The article can be anything of your choosing.

Bloggers I nominate

…it is my pleasure to nominate my victims… er… I mean, favoured selections:

John Dolan, an incredibly gifted writer, whose ‘Time, Blood and Karma’ series has taken the internet by storm… http://johndaviddolan.wix.com/johndolanauthor

Carol Hedges, a superb wordsmith, immersing her readers in Victorian London with all its grime, glory, honour and squalour in her novels… http://carolhedges.blogspot.com

Suzanne Joshi, a talented blogger and writer, particularly of shorter version stories, excelling in the difficult art of compressing tales into 150 words and less… https://patriciaruthsusan.wordpress.com/about/comment-page-1/

My Creative Process

…my creative process evolves day by day, and often from hour to hour… I don’t give it much thought, but one way to describe it is to picture two tabletops, one of which is empty, the other holds a huge pile of unshaped clay… as the ideas and plot creep into my brain, bits of that notional clay are sculpted into less rough form, and moved across to the empty tabletop… each morning, a little ‘nudging’ process occurs, and the shapes become more refined… the key being ‘little by little’… characters formulate and move into chapter passages… other scribblers will understand it when I say, more often as not, these characters themselves take command of certain parts of the narrative… only one piece is always certain in my head… and that is ‘how the story will end’… the path toward that conclusion invariably veers off in different directions on the way to the finale, and as the author, I’ve become comfortable with that modus operandi… contrary to so-called conventional scribblers’ wisdom, I prefer to edit daily the prior day’s work as I go along, and, of course longer review edits when the work is completed… I seldom change significantly the story-line one it’s down on the laptop to my satisfactory edit… a combination of planner and pantser sums it up perfectly…

…see yeez later… LUV YEEZ!

  1. Thank you so much, Seumas. How can I refuse this award coming from you. I’ll somehow squeeze it into my little blog. It’s such an honor. 🙂
