…it’s not sum’thing that Billy Shakespeare or Chuck Dickens ever had to contemplate… but I’ll bet they’d’ve enjoyed the experience… in this relatively new age of Insomnia-By-Internet, authors coming to the market with their masterpieces have the option of throwing Virtual Book Launch Parties…
…through the auspices of Uncle Laurence and Auntie Stephanie Patterson of my book-bringers-to-market-in-chief at Crooked Cat Publishing, this ol’ Jurassic has been involved in a coupla such jamborees within weeks of each other… the first, about two months ago, saw the relaunch of SAVAGE PAYBACK… yesterday, a Friday, 13th no less, brought the other two literary siblings, THE VIOLIN MAN’S LEGACY, and VENGEANCE WEARS BLACK, back onto the market… and what a blast these occasions have been… of course, the invitations were sent out well in advance… pals on the Web… supporters of the Blog… fellow Cats in the publishing stable… assorted scribblers from all over the WURLD and many other places all chimed in… the alarm chimed at 6.a.m. and the day’s activities began… exercises to ensure the laptop fingers were supple enuff to face the day’s interaction of busy key-bashing… soft drinks and food arraigned around the writing desk to bunker down… and at 7 a.m. into the party proper… being in the Middle East makes it convenient to capture a huge slice of the various time zones from whence zipped the banter… Aussies and Kiwis in at the start… up next, Hong Kong and others in Asia, melding into the Arabian Gulf folks… following the sun, Europe awoke and chirped in… ‘Merika, Canada and the Caribbean bolstered the latter part of the day… we had virtual haggis sandwiches, Tunnocks Chocolate Caramel Wafers… Barr’s Irn Bru… malt whisky, wines of the best vintage… chocolate cakes, chocolate bars, chocolate biscuits, and … well, just lotsa chocolate… some came dressed in haute couture gowns, and others… well, others just came dressed… music courtesy of five decades of the best artistes from down the years warbled at us, fresh from You Tube, and my Comedic God, Billy Connolly entertained the crowd in his usual fashion… the day flashed by … 19 hours after switching the Mac on, with great reluctance, Master Gallacher turned off the lights and crawled happily back into his hammock… hard WURK?… yes!… exhausting?… certainly!… WURTH it?… you betcha, Mabel… if any of yeez Lads and Lassies of Blog Land wanna do one of these Launches, go for it… the warmth and feeling of family with yer online partygoers is immense… now, I need to get on and finish the next novel, and get another bash going… see yeez later… LUV YEEZ!…

I only managed to join for a bit of cake and then I saw you send the few hangers on home very late. How resilient!

Here’s Seumas Gallacher with a recap of all the shenanigans and hi-jinx that went on yesterday online in celebration of the republication of two of his novels. This man certainly knows how to throw a party!!

Best party I’ve been to so far this year. Couldn’t stay long but it was a b.l.a.s.t. Someone–must have been Seumas–thought, let there be cake and was there cake! Great time. 🙂

I’m glad it went so well! Many apologies for not being able to attend. Can’t wait to see paparazzi photos of the soiree… Especially the one of you and Billy doing the highland fling with lampshades on your heads after the macallan bottle was empty. I understand it was quite the show!

Seumas, I di’n’t know about the party or I’d’ve come. Sounds like ’twas a right fine lark, with ever’body lettin’ their hair down… Ahem, those who have hair.

Fascinating! Somehow I missed yours. I must admit, it still baffles me a bit, but one of these days I’ll figure out how it all works. Glad it was a success for you – but not surprised one teeny bit.

Dammit I missed it! I’m sorry I didn’t make it after saying I’d turn up but luckily it looks as if stacks of people turned up.
Glad you had a gas.
Cheers
