Ode to Hath

…. here’s a Scots lassie who combines her love of poetry and bikes … my pal Author Ailsa Abraham…enjoy…:)

The Bingergread Cottage

I have a motorcycle

He’s my pride and joy indeed

I am never ever happier

Than when taking bends at speed.

I sing with joy while riding

On my black and silver steed.

In summer time when it is hot

The bikers all turn to

A ride-out I can find sometimes

I raise left fist “YooHoo!”

The bikers’ salute is returned

I slide in at the back

And gently work my way along

Into the revving pack

And then I’m in my element

I could not ask for more

Though they are all big hairy blokes

And I’m just five feet four.

There’s growling Harleys, Kwakers,

Oh my saints alive!

There’s one great big Laverda

Though we’re just a 125

They treat us like a brother

For the miles I tag along

Then with a final left salute

I go home, filled with song.

Cos just for a few minutes
