…there’s an old sayin’ my grandfather used to quote…well. it would be old, if Gramps was pitchin’ it, right?…‘ye become an overnight success after 50 years hard slog’...I’ve been in paid (most of the time anyway) employment for just about the five decades worth that he spoke of…I’m certainly not gonna trouble the list-compilers at the Forbes Richest Ten Million People on the Planet…but success can manifest itself in diverse ways, as Socrates may have said….(ye didn’t know Brazilian footballers were that philosophical did ye?…)…those who have followed my ramblings on here will know that I’m the ultimate latecomer to all things quill-scrape-y…and even more befuddled, bamboozled, bemused and bewildered by the The Modern-Day Mother Of All Dark Holes…the WEB...nonetheless (always wanted to use that word—’notwithstanding’ is another…)…nonetheless, the immense pleasure that comes from the therapy of tapping away regularly on this laptop can prob’ly only be understood by the countless thousands of yeez out there who do the same thing…of course, the ‘just-around-the-corner’ mega-publishing contract that awaits each of us is a grail worth waiting for…in the meantime, it’s kinda snuck up on me, the realisation that I’ve seldom been more content than in the last couple of years…arm-wrestling with the travails of the SOSYAL NETWURKIN channels…Q and A-ing with umpteen phenomenal reciprocative bloggers…getting invited to virtual book launch parties a la élan-laden Master Andrew Peters (him what writes greatly entertaining detective stories...buy his books…ye’ll LUV ‘EM)…this afternoon, Matron has allowed me out on parole to go to Dubai (150 km from Abu Dhabi where I’m normally ensconced)…the Dubai Literary Festival kicks off this evening…I’m going huntin’ Big Game…agents and publishers from the UK and the USA…let’s see how that little safari works out…point of all this blether?… it’s glorious fun!…and I’ve had to divest nary a stitch of clothing to enjoy meself…meantime, here ‘s some great bloggers who recently invited me on to the Holiday Book Blog Tour:
